spring/summer 15 favourites

Hi, sorry I havent posted in sooooo long but if you follow me on Instagram (@allinadaysfashion), you’ll know I’ve had exams recently so I’ve been really busy.

Anyway, I have a lot of new and exciting beauty and finds to talk to you about!

1 Benefit They’re Real mascara in brown.

Since its summer I decided that I would try a brown mascara as I tend to go for a more natural makeup look. I’m a huge fan of the original they’re real mascara and since they have recently brought out so many new colours, I decided it was the perfect mascara for me.

It goes on almost identically to the black version giving the same length and volume however it isn’t as harsh. As I have blonde hair and freckles its perfect for me as black is often too much. One coat creates a light and natural look but more layer can be applied to create a more dramatic look, that can appear almost black. However, the brown is much softer and personally I think it looks great with freckles!IMG_2729

2. Nike Air Max Thea

I saw these beauty’s a while ago and fell in love but stupidly never bought them straight away. When I then got round to buying them they were sold out, in my size, everywhere in Britain. I was desperate for them and tried everything I could. However, I then remembered Nike ID. I found the Thea style and created white shoes just like the ones I wanted, it allows you to tailor every detail to suit you, so even if you wanted white shoes you could add a pop of colour or your name. I however, decided to keep them classic.

This style is a mix between Roshe and Air Max making them super comfy but also fashionable and nice enough to wear out shopping or out for lunch. I love them because they stop your feet from getting sore after hours of trailing round shops!!

3. Garnier Micellar Cleasing Water

A friend recommended this product to me and I’m so glad they did because it’s amazing!

It “removes make-up + cleanses + soothes”. I love it because a very small amount can remove your whole face of makeup (yes, even eyes) so easily without rubbing or rinsing. It is very gentle and doesn’t dry out your skin. It also comes in a huge 400ml bottle and lasts so long, supposedly 200 uses.

I often remove my makeup with a makeup wipe and then use the Micellar Cleansing Water after for a thorough cleanse. What I usually find is that after removing my makeup with the wipe so much makeup still comes off on the cotton pad with the cleansing water on it! This shows just how good the product is.

I also like to use the product to cleanse my face after a shower because it’s so quick and fuss free. I just run the cotton wool pad over my face and it means I don’t need to worry about rinsing when my hair’s wrapped up in a towel.

Definitely a wonder product!!!

4. Topshop “Mini V Panel Holdall”

This was a spontaneous purchase but I’m so happy with it. It was £36 which is a really good price considering the quality. The bag is so well made and has a very strong strap which has no chance of snapping (even with the amount I carry)

The bag comes in pale blue or a pale pink/stone colour. I went for the pinky colour because it’s neutral and will go with everything. The bag is split by a divider into two compartments. The bag itself is a decent size but unfortunately the compartments are quite small because of the divider. Having said this I can still fit my purse, a pair of sunglasses and a perfume with still space for other things e.g. lipstick, tissues etc.

5. Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream (light)

I got this BB cream because my sister bought it and I really liked it when I tried it because it’s so light on the skin compared to others I’ve tried. It also has SPF 30 which is great as it is such a strong protection and can be used in place of suncream (for me anyway). The colour is also light enough to suit my skin perfectly which is nice as most foundations and BB creams are too dark for me.

last of winter wear?

I’ve finally gotten round to writing this post that I promised on my Instagram (@allinadaysfashion) a couple of weeks ago.

Coat- George

Top- Miso

Boots- New Look

I wore this outfit for a family lunch for Mother’s Day back in March. As it was getting into Spring, I wanted to wear lighter colours, however, it was still a bit chilly so my favourite grey coat got pulled out along with my knitted grey skirt. This may have been the last time I wear this coat until next winter, which I am sad about but I won’t say no to shorts and t-shirt weather! I think this is quite a formal look but my coat and boots made it a bit more casual so it was perfect for occasion. I love these boots because they a quite smart looking but are very comfy at the same time. They have a small heel which is perfect for me because I’m so tall and still enjoy heels but don’t want to add too much height.

SNOW OUTFIT!!!

Gilet- Next
Jumper- H&M
Jeans-Topshop
Boots- Cotton Traders

So we’ve had a lot of snow in Scotland recently and being the big kid I am, I had to go out in it! This is an outfit I wore for a snowy walk with my sister.

Bought the gilet in Autumn and it was great when it was still too warm to wear a full winter coat but still needed the warmth. Although here, I wore it with a thick jumper and a warm top underneath. This meant it was warm enough for being out in the snow, but I didnt have to put on a big thick coat that hid my outfit. Layers, layers, layers!

I got my boots last winter in Cotton Traders in a garden/outdoor center. I wanted something that would give me enough grip in snow and ice, while keeping my feet warm and looking good. Luckily, boots like this are fashionable just now (biker boots, Timberlands etc). They’re lined with fur and are really cosy and comfy.

I paired with these jeans that I recently bought, they’re “Jamie” jeans from Topshop. I think they’re perfect because they’re really comfy, a great fit and really flattering. Theyre slightly high waisted which is perfect because low rise jeans don’t really tend to suit me and I love tucking tops into my jeans. They also have pockets just like normal jeans would, which I love because Topshop’s “Joni” jeans along with other stretch jeans lack this. Obviously this outfit would go with most jeans but I just wanted to share my love for these jeans and I think I’ll be purchasing more of the same style very soon.

Favourite Christmas Presents!

Santa was sooo good to me this year! I got so many lovely things, clothes, jewellery, makeup, jammies, the list goes on! I managed to narrow it down to a few of my favourite things that I’d like to share with you.

1. Best of Benefit Set

IMG_1944

I love benefit makeup but I feel that it is too expensive to try everything to see what I like. They have so many unique products that look amazing but I’m not willing to spend my money to then find out I don’t like them. That’s why I love this set. its a great way to try out all benefits best selling products without buying each of them individually. Its so beautifully packaged and the products are a really good size so you can get a good few uses out of them. I’m really happy with this present and will be buying some of the full sized products when the minis run out.

2 River Island Vanity Case

IMG_1961IMG_1966IMG_1983

I normally keep all my makeup in several bags and drawers and it means that I can never find what I’m looking for. This vanity case is perfect as it is big enough to fit everything in but small enough that i can take it away with me and move it easily around my room. It has two reasonably big compartments, however the bottom is bigger than the top one. I use the top compartment for brushes and sponges and the bottom for makeup, its even big enough to fit my eye shadow palettes etc along with the rest of my makeup. The case itself is white patent and black crocodile print with gold details and zips. It has a very classy and sophisticated look to it which I love.

3 Real Technique Makeup Brushes

IMG_1925IMG_1938IMG_1930

New makeup brushes were one of the few things that I actually asked for this year. I was in desperate need of new brushes because I’ve never really had any brushes that I could use to achieve certain looks, I had one blusher brush, an eye shadow brush and that was about it. This meant that I couldn’t try out different techniques and styles because I only really had two types. This set is great because it has a wide range of brushes. The five brushes that it contains are completely different and can be used to create different effects. On the back of the box there is a brief description on how to use them but Real Techniques have a YouTube channel where they post tutorials on how to use their products which are brilliant. The set is also beautifully packaged meaning it’s an ideal gift.

4 Lauren Ralph Lauren Handbag

IMG_2029

This was my favourite present this year, and obviously my main present. I have always wanted a designer handbag and now I finally have one! I wanted it to be black and with little gold or silver detail so it was versatile, which I really think this one is. I think that it’s really classic and will last me for years to come. To me, it was important that I got a bag that wouldn’t go out of style for a long time and I’m pretty sure this one won’t. It has two arm straps and a shoulder strap, the shoulder strap to me, was essential, as that’s how I prefer to carry my bags as its more comfortable and practical, but I also wanted to have the option to carry it on my arm. Inside, it has a lovely red satin lining, with “Lauren Ralph Lauren” print, and pouches on either side big enough for your phone, keys, lipstick etc. meaning they can be easily reached without having to rummage around. The bag is closed by a magnetic flap.

I hope that you all had a lovely Christmas and got everything you hoped for and ! wish you all a happy 2015!! xx

Sorry it took so long to upload this post, I wanted to try out all my gifts so that I could tell you what I truly thought of them. My next post will be up very shortly, where I will share with you my New Years Eve outfit.

CARA x DKNY

The wait for Cara Delevingne’s DKNY collection is finally over. The CaraD 4 DKNY collection was released last Saturday (October 11th) and is now available to buy from dkny.com and select DKNY stockists, so exciting!! The 15 piece collection ranges from £60 to £515 (prices from the DKNY website) and is mainly monochrome and yellow although it has pops of blue. It’s a sporty, street style collection that perfectly reflects Cara’s chic tomboy look. She says that her inspiration was, “of course, selfishly, stuff that I want to wear but also stuff that the fans would enjoy wearing…It’s about New York, London kind of city life, but also being able to do anything in these kind of clothes.” I think it’s really nice that “Delevingners” can dress in their idols clothes,  especially when it’s actually something that Cara would wear.

Icara dkny

The collection includes:

-black leather biker jacket
-bomber jacket available in: forest green with yellow sleeves and details; and navy with yellow details
-black puffer coat with fur rimmed hood and yellow and white details
-black and white sports bras
-printed T-shirts available in various designs
-printed vests (XII tattoo print)
-plain black vest with yellow details on hem-line and sleeves
-black and white plain crop tops
-black & white and all black mesh panelled, stretch jumpsuits
-black hooded jumpsuit
-yellow, black and white beanies
-burgundy hoodie
-grey pant suit with yellow waistband.
-black moto pants (stretch coated cotton trousers)
-black and grey panelled suit jacket

My favourite pieces are the leather biker jacket and the panelled jumpsuits. The jacket has detachable sleeves and can be worn as a gilet/waistcoat which I think is a great feature especially for the price, as it’s not cheap. The jumpsuit comes in black white & grey and black & navy. It can be worn casually with trainers or even dressed up with black heels and some jewellery.

When talking about the collection Cara said, “I love to layer every which way. There are 15 pieces to play with—no rules, no “looks”, just opportunities.” All the pieces go so well together and so many outfits can be created from just the 15 pieces. I hope to see more from Cara because the collection turned out so well and what more can you ask for than a street style collection from the Queen of Chic.

What’s your favourite piece from the collection? xx

a/w 14 haul

This weekend I went shopping with my sister and as we had just been paid we had to buy everything we saw!

There seemed to be a recurring theme of black, burgundy and pale pink. I got this pink fluffy jumper from Primark for just £10, bargain! It’s so soft and I can’t wait to wear it especially now the cold weather’s approaching. The jeans are from New Look and I love the fit and colour, however, they only came in one leg length and are quite short on my long legs. I had been looking for a soft knit scarf for a while and fell in love with this one in H&M. I saw similar one in Primark and although it was cheaper it just didnt seem as good quality so I spent a few pounds extra and I’m really happy with this one and I look forward to wearing it with jumpers and jackets.

IMG_1450

I got both burgundy t shirts from Topshop, they’re quite similar but I really love both of them. One is quite a thick material and should be worn casually whereas the other is a thinner fabric and has a scalloped hem and is a bit more dressy.

IMG_1414

The boots are from New Look, I love ankle boots right now and just had to get in on the trend. I was initially just looking for a flat pair but when I saw the heeled pair I couldn’t not buy them. They are both really comfy but they don’t have a very good grip on the sole and won’t be very good when the snow comes.

Overall it was a very successful trip. What’s your favourite a/w purchase? xx

walks on the beach…

Last weekend I went away with my family and some friends to a small seaside town in Scotland. We stayed in a lovely house just minutes from the beach. The scenery was beautiful and luckily, we got brilliant weather.

IMG_1291[1]

Despite the sun being out, as we were at the sea (and in Scotland) there was still plenty of wind which gave me the perfect chance to wear my new Regatta jacket. I had been looking for a yellow rain jacket all summer and I finally found one in the end of season sale in an outdoor shop. It’s perfect and at £30 it was a steal!

Jacket- Regatta

Top- Forever 21

Jeans- New Look

I love this jacket because its lightweight and waterproof but is still warm enough to take me into autumn. As it’s such a good make it’s a good fit and really good quality it will hopefully last me for a while.

IMG_1360 IMG_1364 IMG_1356 IMG_1366 IMG_1369

To top it off it has nice deep pockets, adjustable cuffs, drawstring hood and a beautiful nautical pattern on the inside of the hood and the lining making it even more appropriate that I wore it along the beach in this beautiful fishing town.

I hope the sun’s out where you are too x

My latest purchases.

IMG_1153IMG_1134IMG_1159

A couple of days ago I fell in love with this cardigan from Marks and Spencer’s after seeing it online so decided to go shopping and buy it. I always prefer to buy things in person because you can try them on and you don’t have to pay for postage. Also I’m less prone to impulse buying when I go to the shops.

I love this cardigan because it’s sooo soft as its made from alpaca wool. I’ve been looking for a cardigan like this for a while because all the ones I see are either too long or too short. I love the pattern and colours because they’re not too bold and bright which means I’ll wear it more often and it’ll go with more.

IMG_1133

In the same trip I also got this ring and belt (both from Newlook) which just so happened to go perfectly with this outfit! I love the ring because it’s adjustable meaning it won’t slide about my finger like all my other rings seem to. as for the belt, i bought it simply because it was a lovely colour and a great price!!

I  really like this outfit and will definitely be wearing it again xx

Dress- H&M

Blouse- New Look

Shoes- Clark’s

Bag- Primark

My plan was to shoot an Autumn look for this blog post, although a sudden change in the weather (as you can see from the view!) left me going out in a dress and bare legs! The outfit’s nearly autumn ready with the darker colours and layers, all it needs is a pair of thick tights and a thick knitted cardigan. I can’t wait to be able to wear woolly jumpers and  jackets everyday when the cold days approach.

IMG_0958

I wore my hair in a loose french braid that I tucked up at the bottom (if your hairs long enough you could wrap it into a bun). I left a few pieces down at the front and added some soft curls.

IMG_0997

I accessorised with a leather bracelet I got at craft fair (similar here) and my cute clock necklace from Accessorize.

What are you looking forward to wearing in autumn/fall?

xx
